Dead person outside my building
Did it? I can't watch that show. Its rift with reality is too painful.
I did see a bit at a friends house a month or so ago and, jeez, there were Gang-related attacks within the ORs, women giving birth in the stairwells and people coding in dark hallways. I mean, come-on, where the hell are the lights? It's like X-files for Christ's sake. And those ER docs, what a bunch of malarchy with their, "Stat!" and "20 cc's, Now! Not enough time! Start chest compressions! Gimme lidocaine!" And while all the chaos and confusion and shootings and explosions erupt around them, the docs and nurses all look great and manage to have multiple affairs with multiple partners in any number of other dark hallways.
Sorry. ER chafes me. Muz, any new events?

It was daylight when they took the body away about 5:00am.
We're 11 floors up and from the brief glimpses we got (we didn't really want to be accident watchers) the deceased was a blonde haired woman wearing gold jewellery which the undertakers removed before taking the body away. I don't know her age but would take a wild guess at middle aged due to the jewellery and the fact that she jumped from a luxury apartment.
Apparently she jumped from the 9th floor and landed very close to the building in the garden. The family must have realised soon afterwards and raised the alarm. I'd have thought that a nine story (90ft) fall into metre high shrubs and grass might allow some small chance of survival but it would seem not. I hope it was instantaneous for her and that she didn't suffer however I suspect the ambulance may have tried to revive her given the amount of time it was there before finally leaving empty.
The police, ambulance, undertaker all were very quiet throughout the whole thing. They sent forensic police out. They were very efficient taking photographs, dusting for prints, documenting everything, all done in around an hour.
I think the rest of the residents and those in surrounding buildings slept through the whole thing as I have not heard a word about it. Had she jumped on the front side of the building it would could certainly have been much untidier and woke a few people up. She must not have made a sound. It's almost like she planned it so as not to upset others.
It was a surreal sort of night.

Further news.
A friend of mine happened to be talking to one of the ambulance persons that attended the other night.
The woman jumped in front of her 12 year old son. AFAIK the two of them were the only occupiers of the apartment. It was the boy who rang 000 and raised the alarm. Poor kid.

It is a tragic thing....having to witness someone commiting suicide. Even worse when they make you clean up the mess. My mom couldnt do it and I had to help my father clean Grandpa off the wall.....
