Out of curiosity. How many miles did she go in four years?

When I worked for Toyota some early 00 year Camry 4cyl's had a sludging issue where the oil would sludge up the head of the engine prematurily. Well some customers would try to milk the issue saying the sludge caused an engine problem. There were a few that were def screwed and they were replaced under warranty but a good technician can tell if it's from negligence or actual defects. I will always remember this lady's car. When the valve cover was taken off it looked like the inside of the head was filled with axel grease. That was from her not changing her oil for about 20k miles.

Feel free to try whatever but I doubt you'll get it past the service dept, but who knows

also would not be surprised if they make her get a new engine because a rebuild will probably be as much and possibly even more labor intensive then a new engine.

Maybe her insurance will cover it.
Not a chance. Auto insurance does not cover your failure to maintain the vehicle. If it did, everyone would blow their engines at 60,000 miles and get a new engine.

I love how the OP admits a mistake and everyone on here tries to find ways to dodge responsibility. Good job guys. Way to own up and pass the buck. It's no wonder this country has to have so many idiot signs and disclaimers.
