So you want to go see the Spazmatics at Scout bar on friday?
I always carry a nice Camillus mainly used for cutting boxes and whatnot at work. Im also never without my H&K USP Compact. Nothing better than a .40 S&W when it comes to defending yourself
One of the best knife-fighting, knife culture movies ever made:

I have carried a pocket knife since I was 10 years old. However (LOL) I never really even considered stabbing someone or self defense as a reason to have a knife. My father and grandfather were carpenters and cabinetmakers. They taught me to use a knife (as a tool) and hone the edge to razor sharpness at an early age. Quote from my grandfather....."A sharp tool is not as dangerous as a dull tool". All of my blades are honed so that I can shave the hair off a patch of arm. Grandfather's test.....lick your forearm in a small spot. Then run the blade over the wet spot like shaving. If the arm is clean in one pass, the knife is sharp.
These days I usually carry a little Swiss Army knife like the OP asked about or my current favorite, a Buck Scholar and sometimes a tiny multitool. The buck is very slim. It fits in a suit pocket with no bulges. And its stainless contstruction looks nice while it requires zero maintenance.
I'd say that on average, I find a use for a tool like that once or twice a day. Cutting string, paper, or tape. Trimming plastic or wood. Prying something. Screwdriver, bottle opener, and yes.....toothpick and tweezers on occasion.
Suggest an Arkansas whet stone and some honing oil as an accessory for anyone that uses a knife daily.
