i used to count strokes when having sex to delay ejaculation. didn't always work, cuz the counting sometimes gets me more excited.

Rosey and her five friends.
if i''m walking and im bored i'll count how many cracks i step over with my left foot and then i have to step over the same number with my right foot. Or I have to walk in such a pattern that i step over 2 cracks with my left, the 2 cracks with my right, etc.
I heard of some one who taps the roof of their car every time she drives through an amber light.
If I'm putting away a pack of gum (the slider type) I have to tap it 3x on my palm to slide it close.

I always have to make things feel even.
...when I was little, if my right elbow (or anything) touched a table (for example) I would have to then touch that table with my left elbow.....THEN!!! I would have to touch it again with my left elbow and then with my right elbow to even it all back out.
When I used to have my civic, everytime I started moving (from a stop light etc...) I would have to check to make sure my headlights and windshield wipers weren't on...even though I knew they weren't on...obviously exceptions were made in the event of night and/or rain.
I think it's OCB: obsessive compulsive behavior. Most people have it, and most usually grow out of it. I grew out of mine by my teens.
It's OCD: obsessive compulsive disorder, if it's problematic.
In scot's case, if he has to go back down the stairs and count over if he messed up, it's OCD.
