I give every 8 weeks like clockwork (unless I am sick) I have given blood 39 times.... my next one is 5 gallons .....

It is fairly painless (they have never missed with me...i have easy to find vein), takes about 15 minutes from the time I park my car until i get back in it (i always schedule an appoitment so I don't have to wait)....

People are pussies who don't at least try to give blood.

Just don't watch when they put the needle in....it is a small pinch...big deal. I have B+ blood which is only in 8% or 12% (i forget which), so mine is fairly rare...

I bitched about all the retards who gave right after 9/11, flooding the system....I would bet that only about 1% of those donors has gone back to give again..........

GIVE BLOOD!!!!

Scared? Argument?? I'm not going to risk any possible contamination of self for others....sorry.

Besides...I smoke too much for them to want my blood in the first place.

I've been a donater for 28 years. I'm on the Red Cross's call list so when it's past the 56 days, they call me again to see if I'll come in. I've donated 38 times. I started when my grandmother was needing blood and kept it up. It only hurts for a few seconds.

I love giving blood. It's like doing right click, refresh on the desktop

The only downside is that I dont get to do it nearly as much as I would like to do it.

if you want to make some bucks, donate in places like saudi arabia where they pay people to donate blood. my cousin used to teach english in/around the middle east, and he made quite a bankroll for his car modifications when he returned to the states 2 years later

on a separate note, perhaps a doctor can answer this: my blood type is AB, and when i was a child in Taiwan i was told that since my blood type is universal receiver and only one type of person can receive my blood, i shouldn't bother. is that true?
