Do you guys live with your parents still?
Hey im just curious how many of you younger guys still live at home?? Im dyin to move out..but this means getting rid of the s2k and getting something less expensive.....sometimes i think i should have kept my old integra GSR so i could save up for my own place
owning a car like the s2k and having massive payments + buying mods doesnt help moving out ....if i sold my s2k got a car just to get around..i could afford my own place
im 23 yrs old, work full time, school full time (I cant wait 4 this bullshit 2 b over) i transfered 2 times so i lost massive credits..i feel old as hell still going to school
at least my girlfriend has her own spot..so im there most of the time (also great 4 u know...doin r thing) tryin to do ya thing at home is so not fun!!

I'm 21, and kind of on my own. my parents bought a new house in palm springs, they wanted to move. I was screwed, the S payments plus having to pay rent, while going to school and working. They just pay half my rent for now, until I'm done with school (I'll be at least 23, maybe 24). I too thought of selling the car and getting a hatchback or something cheap, but i cant part with it for now. If it came down to chosing the car or living on my own, i would probably sell the car. just my 2 cents
Kids these days...
When I was 23 I was married, working for just above minimum wage, driving a '71 Mecury Capri whose best attribute was that it was almost British Racing Green.
You gotta choose. Do you want luxuries and the hastle of living "at home" or a more spartan life and making it on your own. It's up to you.

damn, i thought that you were out of your house already.
...bad thing is that if i sold my s2k..i have to payoff the balance...which is a tad higher than the value of my car

I'm going to be 26 this week and am currently living in the parents' house. But in my case, the monthly on my S2000 is only $300 a month, and insurance is another $100, so it's not because of the car. My money drain is private grad school, which costs me $16k a year... Once that's over, I'm most definitely moving out immediately.
That having been said, if selling my car would free up enough money to cover getting my own place, then I'd have no reservations about parting with the car. Driving a fun car is nice, but having personal freedom is way better IMO. Unfortunately, with the rent prices around here, getting rid of my car wouldn't free up enough money to cover rent.
But honestly, if you don't mind living with the parents, then I don't see it as being a big deal. People have their own preferences, and different cultures also have their own norms when it comes to this. If it works for you, then I don't see any reason to rush moving out. For me, I want to move out largely because of my lifestyle - I like to sit on my arse and drink lots of beer - which is definitely more comfortable to do in my own place.

There is nothing wrong with living with your parents as long as you get along with your parents. Some areas, like the Bay Area in California, rent is so hideously expensive (why cyber-x still lives at home) that it's often not worth it. I have a friend who is 25 and just moved out of her parents house in Milipitas, CA (San Jose area) to got to med school at UCLA. My sister, 23, still lives with my parents who live in Vacaville, CA (between Sacramento and San Fran) A half way decent apartment there is almost $900 a month. I moved out 2 months after turning 18 because I joined the Navy and haven't looked back.
