Does anyone on this board own an exotic car?
so what's your definition of exotic then? is any ferrari automatically an exotic? I can't exactly define exotic, but rarity is definitely one aspect. just because something is rare does not make it an exotic, but something that is an exotic has to be rare. there's a difference. apparently somebody is very sensitive about their "exotic"
There's a guy in our socal forums who has a Porsche, NSX, S2000, Sportec, Ferrari 355, and a couple more cars I can't remember.
I think we have some more exotic owners here but they just won't come out with it.

But even agreeing with that definition, all Ferraris are exotic to me (even the lowly 3xx's). The Ruf Porsches and the old 930 are also exotic. The GT2 is on the borderline but surely the CGT is exotic?
How about turbo Corvairs?
How about turbo Corvairs?
I really don't see how you can deny that rarity is not one aspect of an exotic car...pick an exotic that everybody agrees is an exotic...now imagine every other guy on your block having one, like an accord or camry...would you really call it an "exotic" ?

i think that when you start factoring in performance, price, limited production, etc, people start using supercar to define it, like the mclaren F1, enzo, etc.
i think in overall performance figures, a stock s2k might come close to kicking butt on a '63 Ferrari GTO with the right driver.
even though it is a 3 liter 12 cylinder 8k redline car....
that wonderful ferrari gto vs pontiac gto comparo had the ferrari at 0-60 in 5.8 seconds and 1/4 mile in 14.4
now you tell me, which car are you going to call exotic, and which would you take if someone else was paying for it?
if everyone on my street is a millionaire, and i am one also, do i not call myself a millionaire because all the rest of them are too?
good analogy.
and quit peeking in my bedroom window.....
