Does anyone know how to get around Surf Control?
I have a company laptop that will not let me see a lot websites like gmail or yahoo mail for example. When I do, a screen opens up saying Surf Control has denied access to the website. Does anyone know a way around this? Thanks in advance.

Like he said, it not worth it. You can do it by setting up a proxy server at home and connecting to it through your work computer. Wouldn't recommend, they will still be able to see you doing it.
And like he said is well. If they are that anal about surfing, I couldn't imagine how hard up they would be if you removed it. Chances are a script would just put it right back on and you would be stuck in the same situation that you are now.
Unless the software is client only, then go for it! But you have to figure that out.

if you are at work then it could be the proxy/firewall blocking your access. If its software on the laptop then just use a stealth browser. http://www.orangatango.com/ , you can register, but its a few bucks a month, but worth it. Hard for IT to track this because you havent changed your IP address or modified in any way. Works like a chance, but people that watch REAL close might catch on.....just be discreet and dont use it way too much.
