does weaving make u an a**hole?
To me there's a difference between:
-The prick who's weaving in and out of lanes in traffic only to end up exactly where he started because no lane is moving faster than the others.
and
-The strategic driver who recognizes that if he can just safely and politely get through a few cars to an open lane, he can be on his way, never to bother those around him again.
Which one are you?

^^ Same with me. Slow people in fast lanes get weaved by. Other than that, it's stupid. It doesn't matter if you're doing it at a safe distance. All it takes is one person merging over while you're switching lanes.
So unless your wife's in labor, leave the weaving to the grandma's.

Well... IHMO if the person weaving is not signalling and just zipping around they are dangerous to not only themselves but everyone around them. I have been known to overtake, but I allways signal and never cut-off the person being passed. Unless the guy is driving a Porsche or a Ferrari... Then I cut them off and lift the finger out of the rag top as I pull away! LOL j/k
But seriously, it's fun to drive quickly in a car that handles well... This is why we have sports cars isn't it? But in traffic it's just a mistake waiting to happen.

save the LEFT lane for passing, simple as that. god i wish people in this country could grasp that theory and use it daily, we'd be in a much better situation.
go to Germany and weave all you'd like, you'll see what happens to you "pass on the right" types

Unnecessary weaving is dangerous and, even if you aren't "trying to endanger other people," weaving from lane-to-lane does endanger people. Your thrill can lead to your mistake in judgement or confusion of another driver. I understand your desire to feel the acceleration and cornering of a sport car, but your very question illustrates that you already knew the answer that you asked. Drive safely and have fun, and that mey mean weaving on a track rather than the highway where my teenage daughter is learning to drive.
Are we talking about weaving on the highway or on regular roads? I'm all for weaving on the highway...well, not weaving, but people may perceive it as such.
For example, I stay in middle lane (3 lane highway) as much as possible. Left lane is for passing, even if no one is in the left lane. I could very easily just stay in the left lane and avoid "passing" people, but that is bad practice in my opinion. Rather, I "weave" going from the middle lane, go to the left lane to pass, then go back to the middle lane. I've gotten comments from people I ride with to stop weaving, but I leave ample space between me and the car I'm passing. Those who criticize are usally the people who stay in the left and aren't used to any sort of lateral movement unless exiting.
The only time I pass on the right is when people think the left lane is the "fast" lane, not the "passing" lane. Then you have all these people who think they're fast in the left and, to pass someone, I have to go into the empty right lane.
Sorry...that was more venting than anything else

I do the same thing. If I want to pass someone, I move to the left lane to pass the car going somewhat slow and then come right back into the middle lane. I think it is dangerous for people who are not passing to be driving in the left lane. At times, I will flash them but to no avail. They own the road and they are going to let everyone know that they will not budge. In that case, I have to pass on the right and take the center lane. The problem is those people who don't give signals when they are moving in and out of the traffic. As long as they give their signal, I don't have any problem with it.
