what type of heating system do you have? my parents have radient baseboard heat and if air gets in the pipes it creaks and makes crazy noises. i have electric heat and my house is dead silent at night

 

the trusses rise and fall with the heat and cold. the expansion and contraction will usually lead to cracks in drywall/tape and or nail heads popping through mud... it's fairly normal when a house is newer or there are changes in temperatures
