Default dog den/crate with a modern design

We have these dog wire crates sitting my living room and it looks like an eyesore in our house furnished with modern furniture. Does anyone know of any dog crates out there that looks nice?

I've seen some wicker crates on ebay but wouldn't work well in our house.

The only product that I have found is the bowhaus - http://www.bowhaus.ca/haus.htm

But at $390 for each, I think my wifee will kill my ass.

That seems a bit much. Have you ever thought about putting the dogs outside, or are these 'inside' dogs?

i used the standard plastic crate till i had the animal house trained. gave it back to the breeder. 3 year old irish setter rescue about 60lbs so the crate was huge and took up a lot of room. the dog liked the crate but i didn't

method: got the dog used to the home schedule. while we were gone at work he was in the crate, when we came home kept him in there a little more time. let him out side after that. did the food and water on a schedule too. if he was outside the crate he had a dog beds in the rooms where we hung out and we kept him off the couch.

we have two irish as indoor pets. the second dog was qute a task to get him sorted out, took over a year.

The breeder offered training for us and the dog, without this it would have never worked.

Our dogs are on a strict eating/pooping schedule but the crates are being used for more as a protection of our house when we're not home than anything else. We've had our 3 1/2 month old puppy for 5 weeks now and already hes destroyed our carpet, dug two holes in our walls, chewed up one of my wife's scandals, chewed up my GQ and Wired magazines, destroyed some clothes and tried to eat my BAR Honda umbrella. Oh and he tried to bite the tip of my Amuse exhaust on my S2000. And he is just a little 5 lbs Chihuahua; I mean one would think how much havoc can a little puppy Chihuahua create? This little guy is monster but we love him!
