Default Dominican Vacation

I said in a couple threads that I'd post pictures when I got back, so after a week of settling back in, here they are.

My buddy Joe sitting on a tree near the beach

Our first night at the resort, new buddy Andrew on the left, me in the middle, my friend Joe on the right

A kid who showed up at the resort disco with his drunk parents at 1:30am

My roommate Kari and her boyfriend Jamie

This guy was tanked. He got married earlier that day then sneaked out of his room at about 3am. His bride showed up about 2 minutes later incredibly pissed off and we never saw him again.

We found the only place around that served American-ish food in Cabarete and I bought pizza. I wanted some later when I got home at like 5am but didn't have anything to heat it up with when I got it out of the fridge so I built a device out of the iiron.

Me, my roommate Kari, and my buddy Joe on our last day there

This lady appeared throughout our entire trip. Minutes before taking this picture she was behind the bar with her hand down the pants of the Dominican bartender, in plain sight. My friend Tanner was so disgusted by her I had to grab some photos.

Kari and I were standing in the ocean with the water touching out ankles and I was holding my smokes to keep em dry. A rogue wave caught me off guard and attacked my smokes.

Second time worked better

Superbowl Sunday on the beach at Jose O'Shea's, overlooking the ocean behind the screen

Another view from the side

Ducks walking through the lobby bar

Hanging out at the pool tables in the pool, a couple steps from the pool bar. New friends in back, Kari in front

About 8 or 9am after we stayed up all night to watch the sunrise. In this pic we're watching whales jump out of the water but they're impossible to catch in a photo

By about 5am during the night we all stayed up we all started getting a little overtired. We started searching for Waldo and it resulted in this picture. I'm on the left

Me on the beach during our dune buggy rides through Sosua

Stupid girl in front of me crashed her dune buggy into a fence. Had to snap a pic

As we approached this heard of cows on the road they parted and I snapped a photo behind. I'm like Jesus of the bovine species.

Had an awesome time! I've never been the type to go on foreign vacations but I've already started keeping my eye on the websites to book the next.

For 3 days after I got back I had a girl over here and she said I woke up throughout the nights talking about the beach and meeting friends at the the bar by the beach after the disco closes, etc. I found out this weekend that my friend Joe had been doing the same. I think we're all crazy.

at smoke attacking waves. Your reaction is priceless. I like how your roommate can hold the exact same pose for the two pics. [seriously, look at her]

Sounds like a hell of a vacation!

Looks like a great trip. Very nice pizza warmer! I'm heading down to Punta Cana at the end of May. Where did you stay? Any advice?

Yes...but you need to quote "douchebag" because as it turns out, he really isn't one. It was frustrating at first but he's actually a really good guy. The few of us who intended to dislike him came home pretty surprised that we all liked him quite a bit.

Whaaatever. Good trip, we all had a good time, went out for some rides on dirt bikes that some new friends rented there as well. They were little 4 stroke 125cc bikes with honda stickers and a Honda-stamped chain case, but they were not Honda bikes at all. Little junkers but fun, nevertheless.

To get a better feel for the places I go in the future I will definitely be renting dirtbikes/a jeep/whatever and venturing off (during the day). I wouldn't want to be out at night.
