I just got back from a great vacation too. It was tons of fun, but I bled money the whole trip.

So did I. I thought all-inclusive meant I'd come home with a still-fat wallet. Ended up shopping with some of the little local kids in the towns and crappy rural areas, gave a ton of cash away to the people who looked like they needed it most as well. Oh well. At least I paid the bills that I HAD to pay this month. They needed it more than I do.


I've been locking my door at night to avoid the potential baggings. Yeah she's got a great body on her. Wish I had a camera in my head for some of the views I had from time to time of her. Ah memories...and not many of them either (damn goofy Dominican booze cleared my head).

 

North shore or south shore?

I went about a year ago. Flew into Santo Domingo and got drunk in Boca Chica (South shore). Then we drove up into the mountains (central DR) to Jarabacoa and went White water rafting (its was only cat 3).

We then finished the drive all the way to the north coast and stayed in Cabarete near Puerto Plata for a little bit of Kite boarding and surfing (and more drinking)... and we rode go karts there too... lol.

Then drove back to Santo Domingo for a night of partying and flew home the next day.


Did you also notice that some of the cops there drive Subaru STi's?

DR is an awesome place!

Where he went (Cabarete) is amazing! Great for sports like surfing etc...

If you just wanna get drunk... go to Boca Chica and find an all inclusive!

Jose O'shea's was the coolest thing there! Its an Irish Dominican pub... I think i have pics of nude sunbathers in front of it... NSFW! lol

That's a wicked little trip you packed in!

We stayed at Breezes which is along the same shore as Cabarete and where you did the kite surfing, we'd pass the kite place on the way down to Cabarete. The beach pub we were at was down this little alley there, you wouldn't recognize it if you didn't know it really. You walk through several shops and all of a sudden you're in the pub, then you walk out the back of it and you're on the beach. There's a sushi place next to it and a club as well. I don't think I'd want to sleep in Cabarete though. Just didn't feel that safe.

I saw a couple wicked looking STIs but none driven by cops The cops all had crap cars and looked like they wanted to rob me of my shoes.

They do have a sweet pickup truck there called the Toyota Helux/Hilux or something like that. Doesn't look as great in pictures but in person I loved em.

 

Yeah apparently Jose O'Shea's is owned by a guy from Philly so they've got the most North American food we could find. Still, the cheese is that freaky weird cheese they have there so it's not quite the same as back home

Night of the SuperBowl at O'Shea's was the biggest meal I had the entire time I was away though. I ate once every couple days only because people made me. I would've been completely content not eating at all. I'm the only one in our group that came back weighing 9 pounds less than when I went there.
