I have that....

it works pretty good when i am still on dial up...

but now I have T3 in school...so they are close to useless...

Yeah, DAP works pretty well (esp. for dial-up). If you have broadband, you don't really need it but it helps in organizing your d/l's.

download accelerators - AFAIK - tweak with the MTU settings in the registry which other reghacks can easily do.

I recommend doing the following:
Go to www.dslreports.com/stest?loc=1 (thanks integrate) or Toast.net and do the tests. Write down your download speed.

Next, go to www.speedguide.net and download a particular patch for your system, run it (to modify 'generically' the registry settings).

Reboot and rerun the tests.

If the tests improve - great! if not, just restore the standard settings by downloading the standard settings patch from speedguide.net.

And yes, even on a broad band connection you should see a significant change in speed!
