No on pins - why do you want to poke holes in your ties?

Some interesting ideas there . So chains are bad but clips are okay? I thought those were so...1995. Well dammit, Men's Wearhouse has loads o' chains right up by the register, so I just figured those were the latest style. Guess that's not quite the case...oh well, I must be either way ahead of or way behind the curve .

I'd prefer chains too. Why poke holes in your tie if you don't have to?

First thing is you are in the Washington DC metro which has always been considered more conservative in style. Second thing is you like wearing the chain so who cares what co-workers think.

This is going to be very un PC, but for the past 20 years it has worked for me when it comes to clothing, if you know any gay guys get there opinion.

Tie chains are a no go. Pins are acceptable if the pin fits the occasion, professional logo etc. Your tie should speak for itself. IMHO a tie is a crucial of any dress outfit you can put together an entire wardrobe of dress attire on a budget by putting extra money into good quality ties and people will compliment you day in and out.

U don't wanna know.

A tie chain reminds me of Mr. Furley and 'Threes company' for some reason.
