its dangerous because throwing off the balance of your electrolytes will cause arrythmias in your heart.

I still think you should get this checked out by a doctor. You know...just to be on the safe side.

if all the drinking is because of thirst then get checked because it could be DI. If you are drinking that much for the heck if it, all you need to do is majorly cut back and you'll be fine. I seriously doubt your kidneys are hurt at all or that you are hypo natremic.

Be careful of the advise you get on the Internet. There's many smart correct things in this thread, but also some lame stuff.

Most of the time i am not thirsty. I just have this urge to drink water very often. I drank 8 bottles today so far so maybe three more before I go to bed.

My guess is 2 minutes straight.

Very wise, just to be on the safe side.

Do not eat or drink past midnight the day you go in, This will give your MD the correct results. Also the MD's office make big coin off lab work, expect to pay if do not have insurance that covers the cost.
Good luck.

npo after midnight may be a good idea if your problem is Diabetes mellitus.

Doctor's offices do not get kickbacks for lab work by the way.
