It does get scary at times. You did the right thing.

There's a guy in a 5-series BMW who I run across in my commute frequently. He seems personally offended that I pass him (and continue driving faster then he does) every time. Sometimes he pushes up into what "I" consider nutty speeds (like 90 MPH on city streets) just so he can get ahead of me and then drive slowly in my lane. And then he'll gesture wildly at times. I'm like, dude, relax, I'm just driving faster than you. Stuff happens.

That's just crazy. What car were you driving??? There's some crazy people out there on the streets. Good thing you got away from him.

I would have called the police, but Cingular wireless sucks in LA. All I get is system busy. 80% of the time in the evenings

I was doing my usual 75MPH on 52N in NC this morning. When this girl in the right hand lane decides she needs to move over because of some construction guys on the side of the road. I have no problem with this "safety" move but she is only doing about 55 and I'm her back end pretty quick. Well we pass the workers and it is apparent that she is going to stay in the left lane doing 55MPH. So I go around her on the right. As I pass her I get the finger from her. Not sure what I did to deserve that.

I just laughed and kept going. Best thing for road ragers is to defuse the situation as quick as possible (if possible at all). What keeps me friendly is the thought "the other guy could always have a gun".

Hmmmm...what keeps me friendly is that I have a gun if the other guy gets crazy.

I usually keep my cool but people can catch you on bad days resulting in an incident.
