do any of you ever set your gauges to read in kilometers and just drive around in the metric system for shits & giggles?

i do! i know, i'm a dweeb.
LOL

I switch back and forth during long freeway drives to amuse myself and alleviate boredom. I've pretty much memorized the key equivalents for the most common speeds

I learned the metric system as a kid growing up in Germany, and I convert the numbers in my head all the time, same with Celsius and Fahrenheit conversions.

Hey OT, but for you Canadians - what speed is tolerable by the police on the highways up there? In the states you can get away with ten over without drawing a ticket, but when I'm in KPH, I never know what I can get away with. Is 120 on a 100 KPH highway okay? Faster?
We service the FHP cars at our dealer, and actually asked one of the patrolman, he said "9 your fine and 10 your mine", so I usually do 8 over.
