at least she had the excuse of being on a cell phone... i really don't understand how some people casually drive in the wrong lane, not multitasking, and not realizing they're driving at another car.

I think I've posted this before: I'm coming home from work one night and pull into a Shell station on Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta. I pull up to the left of the first pump island at the far left of the station. The forward island is diesel only and a guy is on the other side of it, facing the other way, filling his truck up with diesel. Just as I get out of my car, a woman in an Excursion pulls in behind me, talking on a cell phone, lays on her horn, and starts screaming at me at the top of her lungs "Pull forward, pull forward." I turn toward her and say "my car doesn't run very well on diesel." She's still talking on the cell phone and can't hear me. Then she starts screaming every obsenity she can muster at me. The guy pumping diesel in his truck is looking at me and just laughing his ass off. In a fit of anger, the woman puts it in reverse and floors her Excursion back out onto Foothill without looking, into traffic and gets centerpunched by a truck. Absolutely demolishes her passenger side rear door and rear quarter panel. Then she gets out of her Excursion and starts screaming at the guy in the truck that just hit her. I high five with the guy pumping diesel in his truck and the entire (large and crowded) rest of the station gives her a standing ovation. The guy with the truck and I wait for the police to make sure they got the true story.
I hate to say it, but that's ****ing awesome. I love karma stories.

Screw it, install one of the little devices that blocks cell reception on your bike. You have better odds of nailing a Victoria's Secret model than you would getting caught having it.

I can't hear anything in the S2000. If I have to talk with someone, I'll pull over / off to do it.

Wouldn't want work to think I'm off at the Grand Prix... "WHAT IS THAT NOISE?!!! ARE YOU AT THE RACE TRACK?!!!"

I think having people in close proximity to you suddenly loosing their cell phone connection would be more dangerous than them having it in the first place. They would be looking at their phone wondering wtf just happened and trying to redial. As much as I hate nanny-laws this is one case where I think it may be necessary.

****. You may be right. Gotta love idiots, can't trust 'em on the phone, can't trust 'em off the phone. If it wasn't for them life would be pretty simple.
