I am from Canada. I am about to seal a deal on a excellent S2000 in washington. But the carfax indicates that there was a duplicate title made. What does this mean exactly? Should I be concerned? My friend who used to live in the USA told me to goto a courthouse, bring the title, and they will tell me if there is a lien or not. Since there is a duplicate title....does that mean that there could be a multiple liens else where???

The car fax shows that there was a lien at one point in time. But the owner has the owner has paid it off since then, and he has the title in his hand.


Any thoughts or comments? If there is a lien, I will get hung up at the boader...and be unable to go home to Canada with the vechile.
