Great deal on this truck. I just bit. Got raving reviews and all you need are some batteries and nitro to run.

just make sure to follow break in procedure.

seems like a great deal!! could i also lift the truck up so i can run it in some taller grass? i dont plan on racing or anything like that, so i have been looking at the new tmaxx, but at half the price this looks like a steal! where i live i have some decently higher grass, mainly just some small fields, but i also have just regular streets in neighborhoods. dont know alot about duratrax either. could i get parts for this just at my local shop like a tmaxx or is it something i would have to order up?

i searched quite a bit as I wanted the traxxas T-mass or the Evo3.3 but considering the price difference and 1 full year warranty bumper to bumper and 2 year on the engine, I couln't pass up the deal.

traxxas is a huge brand name like HPI, and wihle I agree their build quality is superb, i heard of the Evo bottoming out on big jumps.

I use to have a road car by HPI and their customer service was ok and parts were outrageously expensive.

I dont' plan on racing, and just getting this as a fun toy.

that does look like a pretty decent deal as long as your local hobby shop supports that brand. its not fun when you gotta wait on parts to come in the mail.

well i watched the little video they had on the truck and it look like its a little taller than the picture represents. it says in the tech notes the suspension has multiple mounting points so i think thats why the one in the video looks taller. they ran this thing into a curb at an angle and it just tumbled like crazy and kept going. when i had my 2WD tmaxx several years ago i did that by accident and i busted both the front and rear a arms. im not quiet ready to buy a truck yet as im using just my play money for this hooby, but at that kind of a deal i dont think i can pass it up!!! im like most when i want a traxxas truck for ease of parts and dependable name, but with that said i think i will go transfer some money tomorrow at lunch and make me an order!!!!

so now a question i have been debating. thdey have a full RTR combo that has every thing you need to take it out and run it. glow starter, fuel bottle, fuel, batteries, stick battery and charger for the ez-start, everything for right at 297 shipped. is this a good deal or would it be better to just get this from my local shop? would it be cheaper??

thanks for bringing this to everyones intrest!!

The car is RTR but someone who nitro's all the time said that Safety cutoff is a much on trucks that go this fast. it basically puts the truck in to idle once the radio signal get's week.

I think you can get starter pack cheaper elsewhere or from your local shop. especially the fuel.

battery you'll want a rechargeable set. as replacing 12 each time is gonna be expensive.

you'll also want spare glow plugs as they go out fast during engine break in period (first 5 tanks)
Here's list of what I got from towerhobbies, Rest i plan on picking it up at the loca shop

LXHLV3 DuraTrax Micro Fail Safe Unit In stock, shipping 1 $19.99
LXAFE9 DuraTrax EZ Start Power Pak In stock, shipping 1 $21.99
LXTXF672 DuraTrax RT-X 27 1/8 Nitro 4WD RTR White 72 In stock, shipping 1 $199.95

I made a errors on firs tpost.. engine is warranteed for 3 years not two. I also hear they have great customer service for replacing parts.

One thing on my previous HPI Nitro car was that it was very easy to break suspension parts like control arms and steering arms on 20+mph crashes. and on this truck all 4 corners use same parts. so you dont' have to keep spares for every corner.
