I was thinking of Trading in the S2000 for a E46 M3, I test drove one yesterday and change my mind. Magazines say it does 0-60 under 5 sec. But when you drive it, it doesn't feel as fast (torques is similar to the E36) just like when you drive the S2000. The suspension is on the harder side but it absorbs potholes much better than the S2000. I don't think the Chasis is as rigid as the S2000's (it's just me or is the S2000's chasis really rigid)...at least it felt that way. Cornering was quick, but I think the S2000 can be faster and the car is a little heavy for my taste. Now that I just started to Autocross, I don't think I can have a better car for it. I don't think BMW is aiming at a pure sports car, but more towards a luxury GT car. If I want a car for everyday use, the M3 will be it. But for Spirit driving and autocross I'll take the S2000 over it anyday. Has anyone else test drove the New M3, tell me if I'm wrong.

That's the same color I tested droved....Laguna Seca Blue...looks pretty nice actually. I did let it open all the way to redline in 1st and 2nd. I'm sure it's as fast as what the magazine say, but when you're inside the car it didn't felt that way. The rims were cover with brake dust with only around 200 miles on the odometer. I guess I have to cancel my order.
