Ringing in the ears can be caused by many things, ......, lack of sex, etc.

You should take this seriously and have it checked out.

Ringing of the ear is indeed called Tinnitus. It can be caused by a number of things and is very subjective in nature. If you have experienced a sudden onset of tinnitus without associated noise exposure it maybe related to an increase in stress or possible dehydration, as well as less preferable options, as noted above. If the ringing continues you should see your primary care physician for a referral to an ENT as well as an Audiologist for a diagnositic evaluation.

Ok so I've read most of the articles found on google...and I guess I will have to wait for my insurance to kick in before seeing a doc. All the little things that can cause it (and a host of other symptoms that I don't have) are present in my life...coffee, lack of sleep, stree (relocation to a new state, freezing temperatures, no family (and hence obviously not getting any), 2 mortgages, etc.)

so maybe it's just a combination of all that

If you get a blob of wax buildup in your ear that can cause ringing. There are 'bulbs' which squirt warm/hot water into your ear to get wax out. If its a hardened chunk you may need a doc to get it out. Also, some prescription medicine called cerumenex (sp? ) worked well for me - it's some oily stuff that dissolved / loosened wax and then a pencil-eraser-sized blob came out using the bulb. I still have it. It is for sale. Makes a unique ground hog day gift!

i had a clogged ear about 2 years ago and my idiot neighbor told me to hold my nose closed with my fingers and attempt to blow out my nose to unblock my ear...... good god that was dumb. it popped something in my right ear and it rang for at least 6 months...

No ringing any more.... i beat off a lot too though.......so maybe that helps me hear.....

New slogan for Beating off... "makes ya go blind, but no ringing in your ears"

Is your face feeling numb on that side? Just need to know before answering your question.
