Default ebay question

i posted something for sale on ebay with a fixed price..the buy it now price. if i receive an offer, and instigate a counter offer, is the original offer still valid?

for instance - the offer came in under my buy it now price (the only price..there is no auction). I want to keep that offer valid so i can accept it..but would like to counter offer first. If i do this, will it void the initial one?

thanks

andrew

I read that twice and I'm still kind of lost.

Maybe link us to your auction and use a dollar amount instead of "offers" and "prices"?

Or maybe it's just me

Just deny the offer and email the person your counter offer. Then either have them offer it on ebay, or do the sale off of ebay.

The short answer is no. Your buy it now price is still valid, but the customer can take the lower counter offer, but only the customer that emailed you.

ebay is filtered out at work so i cant. sorry, i wil try and explain

i listed it as a "fixed price". as in, there is no auction...if someone meets my price, i accept. i can also accept offers less, but i do not have to.

it is to my understanding that if someone makes an offer, and i accept, they are obligated to buy?

if this is the case, i have an offer that i will most likely accept. however, there is a button that establishes a "counter offer" which is self explanatory. my question is whether this counter offer would make the original offer (which if accepted is binding) null and void. thanks

yes if you accept they are obligated.
no if you counter your original is not null and void
