When you get on an elevator, do you ever face the back? Everyone always turns around, and they seem uncomfortable if you face them...

When getting on an elevator I always wait until people getting off on the floor get off. It just makes sence to me. I hate it when people pile on and you are trying to get off.
Am I right here?
Sometimes I accidently start getting on because I called the elevator and have forgotten that someone may be on it, but then I step back if someone is getting off instead of bull rushing in.

Seriously... I am like you and wait... i teach my kids to wait.... all the while some asshole will walk right past us talking on his Cell Phone.
My youngest son screams "YOUR WELCOME" now if he holds a door and someone doesn't say thanks (not sure where he learned that..
)....

A kid after my own heart. I do that too.
If I had a dime for every door I've held for some worthless human being that cannot say thanks, I'd be a rich mother****er.

I do it all the time and get nuthin for it. So I've taken to very nicely saying "You're welcome" with a smile. Most often people throw in an "oh, thanks."

I need to learn to become a real asshole SOB. A stone-cold, stone-hearted mother****er. Maybe my fortunes would change

And this type of thinking made what the people are like today. You'll soon join them. =)
P.S. **** YOU!

No...their upbringing, or lackthereof, is what made them uncivil. They drag down the rest of society. **** it....I'm joining in. No more holding doors, no more yielding right of ways, etc etc. I guess it was just a matter of time to join in on the 21st Century. No sense in being a gentleman from a throwback era. No one likes these types anyway.

Either way I agree, I'm tired of the lack of courtesy, and tired of being the only one doing things for people just because it's the nice thing to do.
I arrived at Home Depot last night at 8:05pm to order a custom-sized set of wood blinds. Just one, I knew the size, color, everything. When I walked up to the custom order area a mom and her daughter showed up at the same area so I said "Are you ladies looking to speak with one of them?" and I motioned towards the two Home Depot staff standing there and the mother rudely said "Uh, YEAH." and immediately started talking to one of them. When the other employee start to move away to help me, the bitch mother said "Actually, I'd like both of your help please."
I waited more patiently than I ever have before in my life, politely interrupting at the 25 minute interval, then later at 45 minutes to ask if I could just place a very quick order and pay up front. Bitch mother said, "Maybe soon, I'm almost done with them." both times. If she didn't have a hot daughter there with her for me to enjoy the appearance of, I would've laid into the mom with a stream of criticism for being selfish, rude, and disrespectful to me and the other 5 people that were waiting at that point behind me.
At minute 65 I finally was able to place my order which took literally under 5 minutes. While this was going on the bitch mother returned and interrupted to borrow a pen twice. I felt like reaming her out but it's not how I work.
