Hope your wife starts getting a little relief from the pain, iwantyourcar. In the past few years I've started valuing alternative medicines a lot more, especially Chinese Medicine. If I were in a position where I or someone in my family had a serious ailment of some sort, I would definitely look at those options in additional to traditional Western Medicine.

Next time, you have to take charge of the situation and DEMAND that your wife MUST be laying down due to the pain. Kill someone if you have to, clear a space on the floor but don't let her sit when she need to be laying down.

Ambulance rides I've seen range from $500-$1000. The ER visit is what's expensive. I know at the hospital near me it's $5,000 as soon as you're admitted. More like $2000 if you're not.

would sue the pants off the douche bags and post up and advertise bad service all over the web, radio, and tv THEN I would go to headquarters and threaten them with a nasty letter from congress to shut them down that's just me hope your wife gets better!

Nothing is free. You pay for it one way or another, and the more successful you become, the more you get screwed.

I would definitely complain, ALOT. When I had an emergency trip a couples year back I received much better attention, and I wasn't in that much pain.
