Well, everyone is tired when they initially wake up no matter how much sleep you get, I think that's just natural, but if you're still feel tired after an hour or so, consult a sleep clinic.. How old are you??

have you tried to sleep in a different bed? If you are korean then try sleeping old school style(on the floor with eeh-buhl) or try a different type of mattress and change your sheets to some other material too.

Brookstone sells those tempur pedic mattress pads which are quite good. I own a pillot myself and it is very nice and squishy.

What is your diet and exercise routine? Has it changed or is it less than it should be? It takes more than sleep to be and feel fully fit.

So many reasons why this could be happening.

Like the others have suggested.

Could be
sleep apnea
your bed
not enough exercise
too much caffiene too late in the day
too much light stimulation too late in the day (get off the computer or from in front of the tv at least 1 hour before you sleep)
too much stress

I used to have this problem and I dont' now. The funny thing is I don't know what is different not from then.

There are numerous conditions that can cause you to be tired even though you are getting enough hours of sleep. If you are not getting restful sleep, that is one thing, but I would highly recommend a complete physical exam by an MD.

At the minimum, I would recommend getting a CBC and Chem 7. These are just the minimal lab tests, which could indicate anemia, leukemia, or an electrolyte disturbance. Any of these conditions could be responsible for your description of not feeling rested. Everyone should have these tests, and a routine physical, at regular intervals.

Even I skip that one, and opt for a simple PSA test.

Thank God, for modern medicine!!
