Crazy story man. Sounds like Gramps mighta gotten some head trauma if he was acting that out of the ordinary. I'm surprised the paramedics let him ride after the fall. Was he wearin a lid? This is why I always wear gear and I force my passengers to do the same. I have a spare set of gear and if you don't wanna wear it you ain't riding with me. If I go down I wanna know I did everything I could to make sure myself and my passenger come back in one piece. People that don't ride don't know the inherent risk of riding, it's the experienced riders job to make EVERYONE involved in the ride what's going on. Glad the young lady at least had enough sense to ask for a brain bucket before they went down. Glad everyone seemed to make it out ok.

She shouldn't have lied, but regardless, he had no business taking someone he knew was a teenager off for a ride.
No offense, but taking strange girls, no matter what their age, for rides is just begging for loads of trouble.
