Someone please translate the meaning of the first post

it is that time of year when everyone seems to go just a little ott. Personally I think that houses like this are a tribute to christmas! However, I have been informed that there are many anti fairy light people out there who find this sort of thing abonimable!
so... I am here to take a stand and promote the use of fairy lights on the outside and inside of our houses! who is with me in the decorating of a 21st century christmas? look at these pics, aren't they the best huh?

i personally think a few small tastefull lights are fine, but using up every square inch of your property to display anything remotly christmassy is just sad, and a waste of resources.
[QUOTE]I think a little restraint is called for. Yes, it is christmas, but lets not burn up ALL the natural resources in one month.

EXCUSE ME ADAM!
You are the reason I started this thread! you said to me that all fairy lights were evil and only rubbish people have them.
where is your sence of humour?
grrrrr
Christmas lights are OK if they're done tastefully.. In Vancouver the hydro company has a competition every year where the best house in each neighborhood wins their electric bill paid for every year.
My neighbours have won 10 years straight. Eeeek.
