I can't stand the type, but somehow all the rest of my friends can. The self-centeredness, the shallow personalities with superficial taste(and usually expensive).
The stupid thing about alot of this is that alot of it has to do with keeping up with the jones, having something to chat and gab and brag about to the rest of the girlfriends. I'll thumb my noses at all of them.

I'm not big on Valentine's Day, either. Actually, I don't personally get very excited over any of the holidays. After they're over, I wake up the next day, and still nothing has changed, so I don't see the point of making a big fuss. To me, these things are just imaginary dates that correspond to a number on a calendar, and that's it. Yes, I'm a Scrooge.

Do what I do every year, get her flowers the week before the 14th! Send it to her at work so everyone can see! Then put in a message like this: "I couldn't wait till Vday to get you these because you're so irresistable to me!" Her lame co-workers will be so jealous, you save $$$ on flowers, and you make a bigger impact in her life than giving her flowers on Vday (it's doing something unexpected that makes it memorable)!!!

Valentines Day is serious G-A-Y in my book. What's the point of it? To celebrate how much you love each other? That's what another BS holiday, anniversaries are for. I sound like I don't have a significant other but I do! HAHA. I made it easy for my bf. We don't celebrate holidays it makes things simple and no one get's bent out of shape.

I too don't care for VD. I show my wife I love her every day. Why do I have to have some hallmark holiday to make me waste money to prove something I already proove.
Personally I think Steak and BJ day is better.
