football boxes
Hey guys,
I recently bought 4 boxes for this years Super Bowl pool. When I chose the boxes, I picked all 4 numbers in one row.
Now since the numbers for the rows and columns have not been chosen yet, I reasoned the probability of any box is the same as any other for winning. However, someone told me I should have spread the numbers on different rows and columns so that if a bad number like 8 was picked for my row, all 4 of my picks would not have 8 in in.
So my question is... Would spreading out the picks between rows and columns increase my chances of winning? Or does it have no effect?
My Engrish is better than my Math. Hope I explained it properly.
Thanks in advance.

I'm no expert in probablility but I would think that right now your chances are the same no matter where the squares you picked are located. The four in a row could end up being on a number that is a more likely to be reached with football scores, i.e. 3, 4 or 7.
After the numbers are in place you will have a better idea of your chances.

i have no idea what you just said. i have no clue what is on the sheet. you are better off just scanning the sheet and showing us a picture.
But I think Fear Itself(David) is right...Thank you sir!
