He probably cared, he just couldn't catch you - if you're going fast enough, many cops won't bother since you'll be out of sight before they can get up to speed. Maybe they do bother, but if you're going fast enough, you'll be long gone and Scot free.
lol no he was just sitting there, waiting to make a turn, he could have easily gone after me

I havent gottena ticket in years.

last time I got pulled over I was going 80+ in a 45.

It's all in ho wyou talk to them and what you do. When I got pulled over last, I saw the cop coming at me. I saw him slowing down, so i just slowed down and pulled over,I knew I had been busted.

I turned off the car, lights on, and put the keys on the dashboard where he could see them. put my hands on the wheel until he approached the car, and let him know every move I would make (I'm going ot reach for my license, it's in my back pocket, officer)

I explained that I wasn't paying attention to how fast I was driving, but when I saw him, I looked down and went "oh crap, I'm speeding, so I slowed down"

he let me off with a warning, even though I didnt even have proof of insurance.

it's all in how you talk to them. always be polite, and make sure they feel as comfortable as possible (so they don't feel any reason to be threatened...these guys have dangerous jobs, after all). and if you get a ticket, might as well fight it. you could at least get deferred judification.

I called 911 on a cop on Monday. I was on the loop outside Carthage, TX and had a cop come FLYING up behind me. I was doing 64 in a 60 and he was doing a good 20 mph more than I was, through a moderate corner.

No lights, no siren, and he pulled off at the next exit and waited through a light and stop sign. He apparently was just wanting to wring out his awesome new Chevy Impala.

I was ticked off for a good ten or fifteen minutes. I was very tempted to get his plate and go make a complaint at the police department in person.

If you plan on fighting, NEVER admit to speeding.

When I was on my way to Wake the Dragon 08 back in April I was doing 110 in a 55 through Atlanta at 4:00am. No cars around me on a 12 lane stretch of interstate. The cop was hiding around a turn in the left shoulder (next to the HOV lane). My lazer detector went crazy! I didn't even bother slowing down.. passed him doing over 100 (in a 55!). I thought to myself "Keep going fast and look for an exit... by the time he gets in his car and chases me I'll have a good lead on him."

He didn't even bother chasing me! I guess he figured it was 4:00am, there were almost no cars on the road, and the only threat I was posing was to myself. He would only put his own life in danger by chasing me down.

But my question is: "What does it take for a cop to pul you over at 4:00 am in Atlanta? Was he looking for someone going faster than 110 MPH? Would I have gotten a ticket had I been traveling 80mph and he felt like chasing me down?

That's how I got off the hook once. There was slightly more evading involved, but basically I decided I could a) slow down or b) continue and just take the least direct route with as many residential streets as possible and hope he doesn't happen upon me. I won that time.

I find it's always good courtesy at night to turn on your interior lights, completely shut off the car, and place your hands on the windshield frame or very visible on the steering wheel if you top is up. A cop commented once that he appreciated it. On my old 4 door I would open all the windows so there was nothing hiding anywhere as well.

Plus it helps if you eat your drugs before they search the car. jussst kidding.

He couldn't have been sleeping... he locked me with the Lidar gun which means that he had to be out of his car aiming the gun directly at me using the viewfinder.
