I wouldn't call her an attention whore. I've known her for a good 2 years, but I wouldn't call us personal friends or anything. She doesn't have a pattern of attention-whoring, either.

I'll just keep things the way they are. I only asked her that once and told her if her status changed to let me know. I still see her through the course of my normal daily life and will keep things the way they are.

I'm definitely weary of the friend-zone and won't go there, that's for sure!

It is weird because she told a friend (who told me) that she thought I was going to ask her out before I did..kind of like she was expecting it and was disappointed. She had never mentioned the BF prior to that point, either. So, I'm assuming she wanted me to ask...but whether it was because she was interested in me to or to see if she could "land" me I don't know.

I definitely like her but won't pass up anything else waiting that's for sure.

 

She's with the guy because he's an A-hole. She hates having the challenge, but she needs the challenge. You don't need the headache.

Path of least resistance? Be a different kind of A-hole, but an A-hole nonetheless. She'll call you when she's ready.
