Worried about global warming? No, I'm not worried about it because George Bush said there's no such thing as global warming. And if he said it, it must be true.

Most scientists agree that the earth is warming. Where the debate comes in is in asking if humans are accelerating it and how much.

I think that this is the normal progression of the earth. Climates change, always have and always will. Humans probably are accelerating it, but I really don't think that the amount is significant. Nature puts out WAY more CO2 than humans do, way more. Then, there's water vapor, which is also a greenhouse gas!

Humans are a parasite on the earth. When we become too much of a problem, Earth will correct itself. Short of global thermonuclear war, I don't think we can make a significant difference in the earth's cyclical changes. We just hang on for the ride as long as possible.

It's too warm here in Michigan for this time of year, expecting high of 48 today and in the mid 40's all week, normals are around 32 for a high. It seems to lend credence to the theories that abound about global warming. Last week it was reported that a large ice shelf (41 square miles) broke off the Canadian Polar Ice Cap due to warm temperatures.

Parasite is a bit of a stretch, every animal adapts to it's surrounding and evolves in its own way. Unfortunately, modern society and the rise or urban environments contribute heavily to pollution and things of that nature. Eventually the earth will just be one big city, like Corrisant. I also think Mars will be somewhat colonized in the next 200-250 years.

I just watched the Al Gore movie "An Inconvienient Truth" over the weekend.

While I am not an Al Gore fan I had heard good things from people about it and I have an open mind so I watched it. I would recommend people give it a look. It does state some things that are very interesting, especially for car nuts how low our imposed milage standards are compared to the rest of the world. A little long and slow at times but I thought it was a very interesting movie.

You can certainly tell from the movie Al is still very bitter about losing the election. boo hoo. Let it go man.

By the way, we just got our first snow two days ago here in Minny, and it is 40 and sunny today. We never had winters like this when I was a kid, now we get them all the time. DOn't get me wrong, I love it. But what makes a nice winter for me could make some other nice hunk of real estate a barren wasteland at the same time.

When I moved to Michigan in 1998 we had a horrible winter. In December/January of 1998/1999 we had such a huge storm that schools closed for over a week. Everything was shut down. Since that winter, each one has been milder and milder. This winter so far we've had snow once. Wednesday's high will be 51.

I highly doubt that humans have had such a huge impact on the climate over the past 8 years though. I believe that it has to do with climate cycles. Overall, the impact that us humans have on the climate is minimal. There are always people out there with their own agendas attempting to change the way we live. If they have some other agenda, they automatically get discredited in my book.
