I would appreciate some help in locating a club that is extremely difficult to find. I damaged a friend's club when I hit a a buried rock. I have looked on ebay, golfclubexchange, club finder, club scout, local golf stores . . . all without success.

The club is a TaylorMade 200 Steel Fairway Wood, #9 (24*), Right Hand, R-80, Lite (graphite) shaft. My preference is for new but I would buy a lightly used club (8 or 9 out of 10) so please look in the trade-in bins.

If you find one, please have the store hold it and pm or post the details. I'm willing to purchase from overseas.

Thanks in advance.

Michael

I have one but it has two dings and it's 9.5. I believe this was discontinued last year. It's a real nice driver nonetheless.

hmm, hey, since you are from bergen...
try "closter golf" in closter. (near fort lee, leonia area.)
it's a big korean-owned golf range,
the pro-shop there might be able to find one for you...
they got mad rare club hook-ups, i got 5 star honma driver
(which was really rare when it first came out...) a few years ago.

Shinji,
Yes, it is a discontinued model from 2002. TaylorMade re-released the 3, 5, 7 fairway wood in August/September of this year. However, I need the #9 fairway wood (24*)/

S2KDudeRick,
Thanks, this club is a needle in a haystack.

Seung,
I've dropped by Closter a couple of times but they have not been able to hook me up. I'll give them another shot tomorrow, the weather is supposed to be great so I'll hit a bucket while I'm down there.

Try Edwinwatts.com Call them, they have many shops and they may find one for you at one of their stores.

If I were your friend I would not mind a new Taylor or other 9 wood, fairway woods do not have to match a set like irons. Speak to your friend he might want to pick up the price difference. Also many are now using these hybred 26-30 degree utility wood/iron clubs instead of 9 woods.

DrEBraces,

I actually offered to purchase a TaylorMade 'V' fairway wood (their next generation) or a Cobra but he declined. TaylorMade also makes a Rescue hybrid which he also declined.

Honestly, if I had a club I liked, I would want it replaced like-for-like.

I will give EdwinWatts a call.

Michael,

You also can send the club back to Taylor made for refinishing. They can replace the head. Taylor should still have the component parts and do this. You can try to contact them directly or through a golf store or Proshop.

I have done this with Calloway irons and recently with an old Ping wedge.

I use a 7 wood it is 10 years old, it has many gouges and cuts on it, it still WORKS fine. I am 7 to 9 handicap and play 100 rounds a year with it.

Good Luck, I am off to play at 9 today.

I'll see if we have that used at the store. 9 woods are pretty rare to begin with and not normally stocked.
