So is CCW legal in PA, or is Open carry the only option?

I don't understand those who open carry in CA an unloaded pistol.

we don't have a CCW in PA, its called a LTCF(license to carry a firearm) which means we can carry the firearm anyway we want to. Pa doesn't require a license to open carry a LOADED firearm except in a city of first class, which Philly is the only first class city we have.

In California it is next to impossible to get a concealed carry permit... To answer your question, it is illegal to openly cary a loaded firearm in California, but there is nothing preventing you from openly carrying an unloaded firearm with a full magazine in your pocket... Makes perfect sense to me

In the summer I mostly carry a Ruger LCP with crimson trace laser in my rear pocket holster. In winter i'll carry one of my many H&K's.

What do you need to carry anyway? Expecting to run into some heavy gun fire?

S2K1DAY- How do you like the XD9? I've heard good things

Do you mean why do you carry?

If so, check out this discussion on gun control, or this discussion on AZ constitutional carry. both hundreds of posts on that topic.
Hate to turn this into a political debate and get the OP's thread locked or moved.

Same logic as a seatbelt or spare though - I never expect to get into an accident or get a flat.

ironically, you actually HAVE a chance of getting a carry permit in about 50% of CA that actually allows CCW.

Here in NJ, you have 0% chance of getting a carry permit since it must go through the courts and not the sheriff / police captain (which many support CCW)

Congrats and be a good ccw-holder.

I've got the snowball's chance in Hell of a ccw. Why do I live in CA? The easy reasons - awesome weather (when most of you are freezing your tits off), high-tech job, and best selection of twisty mountain roads. Sometimes it is a bitch. Like when I had to surrender a so-called assault weapon (Calico M100, a freakin' toy!) about 20 years ago at the start of our ban.

You take the good with the bad and other places I've lived were more dangerous for other reasons. But you be a good ccw-holder there and that will bring us one step closer to changing our laws here.
