Smile Got Fired

Ok so i just got fired from my job, i was a tech at honda of ftmyers and its been really slow lately, prior to me they went on a firing rampage for like a month strait on anystupid little thing they can fire u for, so i guess it was my turn, last friday i left my phone in a customers car charging while i serviced the car, didnt think anything of it but oh well, i also like to park close to my shop since its alot eisier to leave from there than having to walk distance to get to the car, so when they took me into the office today they told me they are terminating me because i Parked my car in a non employee parking spot/left my phone charging in a customers car. is this some or what?

That's BS. I would complain to the higher ranks at HONDA. I would also talk to human resources about it.

good luck

They were looking to fire you. You just gave them an excuse. Don't park in a non employee area. It pisses off people you work with. Charging your phone in someone else's car is just flat unprofessional. It's kind of like you stuck your soda can in their cup holder while you worked on the car. Even if you removed it before turning the car back over to the customer, it's really unprofessional.

IMO, what you did on both counts was wrong, but not grounds for firing -- just a talking to.

They were just looking for a reason, IMO.

In Florida--your employer can fire you for pretty much any reason.

You park in the wrong spot, your fired.

If you were charging your phone in my car and left it there... I'm calling all the women in your "phone book" before you're getting that phone back....

Seriously, dude. Respect other people a little more. You're probably doing other selfish / rude things "without thinking twice about it."

That sucks you got fired for those reasons, but at the same time both are things you should not have done. I would be upset if I knew someone was charging their phone in my car, just like if they were using my car stereo as the shop boombox. Yes, it does suck having to walk to your car, but at the same time you're there all day, save the close spots for customers who come and go.
