Got hasselled by the 5-0 lately??
I did for the first time tonight in the S2k. I was leaving my parents house to go home after a little visit. Before I hit the highway I may have bumped over the 45 mph speed limit, or so I thought a little bit. Then on the highway I noticed cop headlights behind me.... we all know what they look like.
So I watch my speed to keep it under 60 in a 55. Mr. Fox decides to come visit out of the ditch so I had to swerve to keep from hitting the animal...right in front of the cop....great.... but he negelected it and let me keep driving. So on we go driving along....top is down, and I sense some sprinkling.....so I find the first big area to pull over in and do so abruptly, maybe too abruptly but it was starting to rain too hard, and immediately put my top up as the cop pulls in behind me and flips his blue lights on......
Now I probably didn't handle this situation the best..hind sight is 20/20
cop....How's it going toinght
me.... good, just trying to get my top up before I get rained on..
cop... You know back on N. Hinton Rd the speed limit is 40 mph and I'm sure you were doing well over it (that road was like 30 minutes from where we were at when I first left my parents)
me....I'm sorry Sir, I thought it was 45 and that's what I was trying to do.
cop.... well I have been following you since then and noticed you swerved and crossed the doulbe yellow line, and your speed reached 68 mph once.
me... I swerved to keep from hitting a fox that darted out at me, and I thought I was keeping my speed under 60, although I know I hit 60 once, I didn't think I was anywhere close to 65 or 68 (hence me getting pissed that he's pulling the bs on me about my speed)
cop... well I have it all on radar and video, that's a little car you got there I would hate for you to wreck it.
me...maybe I need to have my speedometer checked out then because I never saw anything over 60. I would hate to wreck it too,
cop....*with flashlight blinding me* well I was just about to pull you over anyway and write you a ticket....but just watch that speedometer
me.....Thank you, have a nice night
cop...walks off
I guess maybe he was checking to see if I was a drunk driver or something after I swerved, but.... what is the purpose to lie about how fast I was going....I was lucky he didn't give me a ticket, even though for what reason other than my swerving he had nothing to base a ticket on besides him telling a lie. It just aggrivates me when I get hasselled over nothing.
His tone of voice and attitude was horrible, he was just looking for something to do out of boredom or something I dunno. I was trying to be polite as possible except when I was accused of going 68, I know my speedo isn't that off, and when I said have a nice night he didn't even acknowledge me.

Dude, been there, done that. I know EXACTLY how you feel, I haven't experinced anything like that yet in my S but when I was younger
.
I realize cops pretty much have a thankless job but, IMO they ALL cross the line abusing there authority at some point or another. I guess its just hard to take because they can and get by with it most of the time.
I have actually been pulled over before several times and they seem mad sometimes, like I was speeding down their own driveway or something. Sometimes they just take things too personal.
I know a guy from my town that is a cop in a bigger city, he got an award for writing the most DUI tickets a few years ago. He LOVES doing it, stakes out bars, clubs watches people leave then pulls them over. Doing his job right? Well he's the biggest hippocrite, a friend of mine hangs out with this cop sometimes, he says he has seen him get in the car drunk and drive home many times.
I know somebody has to enforce the law, but its hard to respect the police when you know of people like this. O yeah, my lil Sis is a cop too

This has happened to 2 of my friends on seperate occasions during the same week.
The first was comming to school, walking from his car he parks across the street, at 820 (school starts at 8 but you arent tardy/violating daytime curfew until 830) a cop picked him up, took him to the truant office etc etc took until past 9 when he finally came to class with and they gave him a warning....said they decided to let him off because he has good attendance record and good grades......even though there was nothing for them to let him off of.
The next was similar thing except earlier as I saw my other friend parking as I was walking into school. Same end result, except the cop drove around with him in the back picking up more people around the school (from 810-9) when he took him to the truant office.

I'm honestly just counting the days until I get pulled over. I don't know if it will be for speeding or something else but I just get that little voice in my head saying that my luck is just about done.
About 2 1/2 months ago I was in Malibu hanging out at the beach late night/early morning with a friend. A patrol car (LA Co. Sherriffs?) came out of nowhere, pulled up, then cock-blocked us from behind as we were about to get into the S2k to leave. We were like, WTF? So instead of getting out of my car I told my friend to stay calm and don't make any sudden movement and wait for the cop to come to us. About 20 sec. later the cop just backed up his/her patrol car and left - didn't even get out of the car. We were like, what was that all about??

OMFG listen to this, talk a total Looser PIG with penis envy, for those of you in FLorida this was off tuckers grade and US -41 I got pulled over and heres where it gets great, keep in mind that i was 5 mph under the limit and was driving a perfect line. He pulls me over and connemces
COP: Excuse me sir, but do you realize what you were doing, driving abit fast werent you?
ME: No sir, I have no clue why you pulled me over and I was driving 5 mph under the posted limit.
(I pulled over right in front of a sigh that says 55MPH), and for any cops reading it, the one before it was 55 as well.
He then asks
COP: Exactly how fast were you going then
Me: 50 MPH
COP: (in a very stern voice) SON! DO you even realize what the speed limit is around here?!?
ME: Yes Sir, 55 MPH
COP: ANd what makes you think that son?!?!
Me: THe sign behind you.
COP: I could take you to jail for talking to me like that
Me: Then i will excercise my right to remain silent and allow you to do whatever is necessary by law.
COP: Give me your license, registration and proof of insurance. (then goes and runs it and whatever they do back in the hog wagon) He then comes back 15 minutes later and asks me to step out of the car. Is there anything you should be telling me about this car that I should know about it? Whos is it?
ME: Sir, you are holding the Vehicle registration to the vehicle which clearly distinguishes me as the legal owner of the car.
And he then takes a walk around the car and then gives me back my papers and tells me to buckle up and drive safely???
Hes lucky i was in a good mood else wed have a lawsuite against Profiling and Harassment And i havnt shown enthisiasm for cops why?

This is not fair. There should be a way to video monitor cops doing their jobs, or something along that sort. It's not fair when one person who doesn't do anything wrong gets wrongly accused and someone who does a harsher crime gets off with a softer sentence. Everybody should be equal, and everybody should deserve the penalty that they deserve. It also doesnt help when cops can lie in court and the judge is obviously gonna take the cops word.
I rather have it this way so you can be treated equal, and know what to expect. And although some cops are honest, although I bet 99% havent been at one time or another, I will never ever respect cops. I will however, fear them because they have the ability to control the fate of my driving/insurance at a snap of their finger.

Most do yes, but i have actually taken one to court on a law suite for profiling and won, although they didnt do crap to him and all i really got was an apology, that just really shows you who the justice system is on, theirs...
