OK, here's the proof. Last night after I got home, hubby and I decided to go get something to eat. We went out to the nearest town with a fast food place and on the way home, we hit the highway (the only real way to our place). Now they have a light on it and dual lanes at the light. I was coming up to it and a big rig and a car were waiting at the light. I hit the inside lane and by then the light turned green.

I kept going and hit about 65mph. The speed limit is 55 though, but I didnt want to cut off the rig or make him slow down, so I sped up a bit (the lane went back to 1 lane). Now I look in my mirror, and I see 2 cars pull out of this old abandoned gas station and they both pass the car and rig. I figured this must be a cop or someone I knew. I checked my speed and I was doing 55 mph by now.

Then the lights come on. I pulled over and he comes up to my car.

Officer Dick "Well, I pulled you over for a number of reasons.....do you know how fast you were going?"
Me "Well, I would say most 60-65 mph."
Officer Dick "Liar."
Me "I was doing 60-65, that's the most I can do in the gear I was in"
Officer Dick "Liar...can I get your lisc and registration and proof of insurance?"

I hand over my lisc and tell him the reg is in the window, hence the no plates on it. He then tells me to remove it and give it to him. He goes back to his car and comes back 5 mins later with a ticket for me to sign.

Officer Dick "here's your ticket, sign the red box. This is not an admission of guilt...blah blah blah"

I start signing it and my husband asks how much did he put me down for. I finish and look.....80!!! OMG!!! 80!!!

Me "How did you come up with that?"
Him "......"
Me "Did you Radar me?"
Him "nope"
Me "I know you didnt pace me since you just pulled out. How did you get 80?!? I told you I wasnt doing over 65!!!"
Him "....."

By now my husband was getting pissed and asked him the same. The officer grabbed back his clipboard and started walking off. I asked him again. He kept walking as he said "have a nice night".

That pissed me off....throw salt in my wounds. The worst part is I want to fight it so bad, but if I do, I lose my chances at traffic school. So fight and lose in court and I will get a point on my record and my insurance will go up. Go to traffic school and pay a $300 fine or so and no point. Lose lose for me

So, with the Spas, 65 is actually 80 mph, so it is faster then any other color!!!

I feeel your pain, most definitely fight this one, its unfair and unjust, he didnt clock you and he actually said that??? Id most definitely take that one to court and subpeona his cruiser footage to help you. Call a traffic lawyer, they usually handle these kinda things for aournd $80-120 i think, my last one was just an $80 fee to the attourney and it was dropped. Keep me posted on how it goes, and if you have anyquestions i will be glad to assist you and direct you towards the best legal advice. I have fought many bogus tickets in court and came out victorious on 5 outta 6 of them.

 

IF he cant povide Proof, then he doesnt have a claim against you, being that you played your part well and was respectful, as in not giving him any reason to remember you, you can definitely destroy his credibility, he must furnish proof of a laser reading, and also if he said he didnt clock you that destroys his testimony of the citation. What state are you in, its a good idea to do your homework before hand to see what the laws are as to a speeding citation, as a laser, the calibration and training of the officer, his past evaluations ( this one gives srtong evidence he was unjust) for example, he did not write as many citations last month, and is now all the sudden writing many, yet he did not clock you?? Sounds more like a law siute for profiling.

Quik, I would say, based on MY experience since you admitted to going 60-65 and the limit is 55, you still broke the law. And the Judge is gonna side with the cop, he may drop it down to 60mph, and that could possibly mean for you a point or 2 less on your record. That's just my .02, thats the way I have been treated in court before. But if you tell the full story, you never know when it comes to court.

On the way in to work I got pulled over for doing 55mph in a 45mph. I was so mad b/c it was a trap. Stupid cops why dont they do something more productive.

I was like F%%k!

Long story short the cop cited me with a 160.00 traffic ticket. Does anyone know how I can get this ticket dismissed so it wont go on my driving record?
