Default Got laid off today

exactly 3 years after i started at my current company, the division i work for was dissolved today completely - it's a shocker because top management didn't even accept a spin-off/JV/sale proposal for this $200M operation (this year would be the first year the division is in the red and not by much), and this right before the start of the holidays......wow.

That sucks! I was in that boat with ALCOA a few years ago. Let me know how things go. If you need some leads, or just want to stop by the house and have dinner with the wife and I to talk, let me know. We always like company.

Sucks Rich, but you're a smart guy, you'll bounce back quick.

Best of luck!

I'm sorry to hear about it. Hopefully you're in a comfortable enough financial spot to tide you over the holidays, to when companies are more actively in a hiring mode for the new year.

The economy combined with the winter holidays makes this November and December an especially tough time on the job market.

Good luck in job hunting!
