Crappy timing. Wish you the best of luck in your search. Maybe time to look overseas and take advantage of the explosion of wealth there.

Good luck man, I hope it works out for you. I worry about this constantly (even though the company I work for is doing great right now) and every story like this I read makes it worse.

Hang in there and keep your chin up!

Some well known analysts are anticipating the unemployment rate will go to between 9-12%

Bunch of my friends and acquaintances are VERY worried about losing their jobs. It is not a good time right now.

I wouldn't be shocked to see 6.5-6.8% be released tomorrow.

so my (soon to be former) company released a statement about the layoff and "exiting the north american market", in the statement it talked about affecting roughly 140 people worldwide and 70 people where i am. it feels surreal to be part of that statement and how casually we were cast aside.

the world is my home, i'm looking for work not only out of state but out of country now...

The equivalent of the entire population of Chicago has lost their job in the past 2-3 months. Unfortunately it's accelerating and not decelerating. When it hits 10%, things will be much worse so try to find a position ASAP.

I've had a few offers since the layoff, but they're not exactly as peachy as I had hoped. Holding out for a peachier gig. Fortunately, my house and vehicles are completely paid off, which don't make me as desperate.
