fat kid + bike = 300lbs * 10mph (b/c he's fat)
skinny kid + bike = 175lbs * 20mph (b/c he's skinny)
either way it's not even comparable to: car + driver = 3000lbs * 5mph (a bumper is designed to withstand this)
I still don't get it. Something doesn't sound right...
it would actually be (mass * velocity^2)....
so as they said with your estimates
kid + bike = 175lbs * 20mph^2 = 70000
car = 3000 * 5mph^2 = 75000
but the car's force is evenly distributed vs bicycle hitting in one specific spot.
Im going to pay insurance deductible 1000$ and they are going to take them to court...If they get money out of them ill be reimbursed hopefully...Lets see what TRIPLE A is capable of

That suck man. This happened at a local tech day I attended. Luckily there was NO damage. Kid's father was an a-hole though. Acted like it was no big deal and said "accidents will happen". Yeah but not as likely if you're watching your animals. Not my car BTW.
lol, yea thats my car. I about kicked that kids ass when he did it. Little pos wasn't paying attention where he was going. Just destroyed my licence plate frame but everything else was, thank god, perfectly fine.
I shoulda said the plate frame was carbon fiber and cost me $100
