Thanks for the replies. Nothing has come of the situation. As for the source, the guy might as well be my brother and he is a fellow gearhead who has 10's of thousands in a very worked Subaru, so it's not a jealousy thing, from his anyway. To clarify myself, I am young to say the least. I am starting my third year of college tomorrow. I live at home and turn out 40 hours a week at work. My bills consist of my S2000, a cell phone, the gym, and food that's about it. My personal feeling is that the regional manager (the one pointing the finger) is OD green with envy. He'll smile in your face and stab you in the back. He's pissed because he's 40+ and can't afford a car like my black bullet. (blacks his favorite color btw) Never mind the fact that he has alimony, a mortgage, college tuition, and all the other bullshit that comes along with being a middle aged man in a mediocre job has to shell out for. I get the "you must make a lot of money" comment often. No matter how many times I tell them exactly how I got the money together for the car they still doubt me.
Anyway, thanks for the insight, keep it coming. And I am definitely looking for a new job!

Personally, I'd speak to him about it. If he still doesn't get it, he's only the district manager so you should go over his head. If you aren't stealing (which I'm assuming your not) there's really nothing that they can do about it. To fire someone for stealing, you have to catch them. However they can cut your hours. Anyways, comunication is the key here. Express your concerns with your superiors you'd be surprised with how understanding they are. And understand how quickly rumors spread. I'm 24 and own a business but I only have 15 employees right now that are divided into 5 locations and somehow they all seem to know everyone elses business and mine too! But then again if someone is stealing I'm going to fire them, have them escorted out of the building in hand cuffs, press charges, and do everything I can to make their lives hell.

I hate crap like that!!!! Ever since I got my s2000, I have been getting comments like, "Oh how do you afford a car like that?" or "you must be rich" or "Did your parents get it for you?" or "I wish that I could afford something as fancy as that". Such bull crap! It's almost as if people try to make me feel ashamed for owning a nice vehicle. I work hard, along with the majority of people on this board. Dont let anyone diminish that!!!

How about: "That could have been your down payment for the house."

LOL..yes, I always get the downpayment question. Thats when I tell them that I already have two condominiums, and they usually shut up at that point
I'm not conceited, just that people ought not to be judgemental. I don't brag, just that people ought not to tell me, or anyone for that matter how to lead their lives!
There...my 02c

See the thing about this company is that it is "baby corporate". By that I mean that the operation is still small despite the fact that everyone walks around with a "we conquered the world attitude". There are four positions above mine, that includes the owner. I don't blame them for being suspicious, but have the balls to come and talk to me instead of running tallyho- black op. missions on me and my staff. I can't talk to a higher up because if one thinks it then they all think it. Out of the 2,000 people working for this company I am probably the only one who has an S2000. I think what I am going to do is save all my nickels and pennies and buy the new RSX Type-R if and when it shows up here and really blow these jerks out of the water!

The people at work dont think I'm stealing from them but I do get the phrase, "It must be nice to have a rich dad" alot.

It pisses me off so much that people think that since I am young and have a nice car that I am spoiled. I didnt take one dime from anyone to get my S2k.

I guess alot of them are just jealous that they spend so much money on their boring cars and suvs and we are driving around in exotic convertibles.

It was this exact kind of bulls#*t that caused me to leave the large corporate environment and start my own company almost 12 years ago. I was on the edge of a nervous breakdown from all the corporate crap. The first 5 years after startup were rough. The IRS slapped leins on my bank account twice and I almost lost my house. Then BIG SUCCESS! I've been happier than a pig in slop ever since. My S2K is a corporate lease. The S2K makes a great company car.
