Growth of Dubai
alot of misleading info on this thread.
1. Indian, Pakistani, etc. workers in the "Gulf" countries get 10 times what they would have in their home countries.
2. holding their passport prevents some workers from leaving their job and seeking illegal residency, finding another job, etc. which is not what they were hired to do. (they are only in the country to do A job. Some workers dont like going back to their home country. whatever the reason)
3. workers r allowed to leave after they have completed their contract. usually 2 years in some countries. (many choose to re-new their contracts)
4. showing skin on the beach is allowed in many countries of the middle east and the Gulf.
p.s. booze is allowed in Dubai.
