that was very nice of you to protect him like that. i dunno what i would have done because you two were messing around and all, i would be afraid he would later tell police/insurance that you caused the accident. again, i probably would have called 911 and made sure he was ok, then i woulda boned out.
I had to go back and re-read the OP's post. Nowhere did he say that he himself was messing around. I'm not saying that he wasn't messing around, just that his story doesn't mention it.

If he was messing around... And he should know better being a rider himself.

Assuming that the OP wasn't messing around... That's NFR for ya! j/k

Keep in mind, I'm not judging. I wasn't their.

The guy is lucky to be alive and lucky that he didn't get anyone else hurt.

I certainly hope that he recovers quickly and that he has learned a valuable lesson.

I would've stuck it to him. Fuhck that empathy crap. Idiot should've been more careful and not ride over his abilities.

I've seen actions like these result in major car pile-ups. Cagers are usually afraid of loud sport bikes and over react to showboating riders resulting in accidents. The squid just drives off wreaking havoc on other cagers.

Karma gave this guy a well deserved bitch slap.

I was once coming down a clover leaf and there was a kid. maybe 16 years old, in a Cavalier behind me riding my butt to show off how fast he was. I was not in a mood to mess around so the cloverleaf came down to about a long half mile access road before connecting with the freeway. It was two lanes wide and he gunned it to pass me. I just let him go and strolled on my merry way. He must have got it up to about 85 when a deer stepped right out in front and totally messed up his car (the deer died on impact of course) He pulled over and I slowed and pulled up next to him.

I said to him what I would have said to the guy in you situation. "Nice move dumbsh*t." He just looked at me with his jaw dropped.

Is that cold? Sure. But in each case somebody decided to drive around like an idiot and it came back and bit them. If you act like an a-hole in traffic and mess yourself, someone else, or a deer up, it aint my duty to "protect" you from anything. If a cop asks me was he driving like a douchebag, I'd answer honestly.

If someone were driving like a jerk in a car and slammed into the guy on the bike would you "protect" the car driver from the police? I don't see why this should be too much different. Protecting him from getting hit is great, anyone should do that, but I am not going to protect him from the consequences of his own actions.

you are correct. i just feel that people don't want to take responsibility for their actions, there are so many dishonest people around its rediculous.

what i was afraid of is the fact that i was even around the rider and since he tried to pass me pulling a dumbsh!t maneuver, i would still be scared he would try to pin it on me even though i would have had nothing to do with him wiping out.

yeah, you try to help someone out and then they point the finger at you. it has almost happened to me in the past and that is why i am overly cautious in this situation.

Yeah....that'd definitely go into the "no good deed goes unpunished" files.
^ sorry to have offended you, but like i said if he would have gotten up and pointed his finger at you this would be a whole different story, i know you had nothing to do with his crashing too. it almost happened to me. sh!t happens.

No offense taken...I was just considering your point. Had stuff like that happen to me in the past.
For the record...I was not "messing around", it was all on this guy. Something about Porsches, Corvettes, Vipers, S2000s, and anything with two seats and Italian that brings out the "douchebag" in Squids on two wheels. At any rate...should that have happened, I'd of asked them to note the mark on my car that had caused him to crash. Between that and my willingness to take a lie detector test...he'd of been toast. But your point is well taken.

No wonder mommy wouldn't allow me to get a motorcycle when I asked. I do know how to ride and have an endorsement though.

Wrong again. If you "learned your lesson" You wouldnt do 90 without protective gear. Kind of like the saying.... "What do you tell a guy with 2 black eyes?" "Nothing, he has already been told twice."
