Go donate them.

You get 25% off your next purchase at the pet store.

THat's what I did when my two hamsters gave birth to like 40 little babies in 2 months or so.

My neighbors chewed thru the plastic tube and got out, they could not find them for days. The only reason they found the little rats was because they decided to chew up an expensive cherry wood bookcase.

They gave them away to a snake owner.

I bought a small female today. The guy at petsmart said she'd get along with a male I had that is almost 3 times her size. Well they sniffed eachother for a little while then he tried to rape her. They fought and I had to return the bloody little female. Zarina cried and cried and cried. It was insane!

The thing is, when they are big, they get fussy. If the hamster that has already grown up did not experience human daily handling, then when you try and pick it up, it's going to unleash it's fury on your hand.

I suggest getting a baby or very small hamster and growing up with it. Just recently I was bored and decided to get my brother a hamster for his birthday. I couldn't find any hamster breeeders so I went to Petsmart and tried to get one. Workers at Petsmart, no matter WHAT they say, rarely handle the hamsters or rodents so when I bought mine, it would not let me get near it. After a week of trying to get it in my hands, I returned it.

Usually, for food, there will be sections of foods for Gerbils and Hamsters. It'll say if it's for hamsters or not. And get them treats. I suggest little yogurt pieces. They LOVE that. Also, hamsters LOVE little pieces of cheese. But don't over pamper them for they will get spoiled and their diet will only consist of the treats. Get them chewing wood for they start to teeth and they need something to rip apart.

When hamsters sleep, if there is enough bedding, they will make a HUGE ass mound and they dig inside and sleep in there. But in the winter time, or when it's chilly at night, it's not enough and the chance of catching something is greater. Get them a pack of bedding supplements. It's usually white and consists of cotton or something of that matter. Sometimes it comes in layers, sometimes in individual states. Just take one, or pull some off and put it in the cage. They will rush towards the bedding, rip it up, and make a new home full of insulation. They seem to love that.

Any more questions?

I forgot the name of the brand but that absorbs the odor a lot better and it is really soft
It is called CareFresh pet bedding and is made from recycled wood pulp. Good stuff, a little pricey comparitively, but works great.
