Blingy wheels and body kits aren't necessary either and you see $2k wheels here all the time. Heck, you see $2k I/H/E that only make 10 horsepower...

This is a hobby. It's an (expensive) one, but it's a hobby to say the least. What is prancing around toting a $2000+ bag? The modding aspect of the "tuner" community is a standard. We're all car enthusiast here, there's a passion associated with this. I agree, there's definitely a percentage of people on here who do things solely for status. However, most of us don't care about other people's approval or concerns about what we do to our cars. It's the reason why you see some on here with ASM parts, while others opt to buy far less expensive parts. Further more, even if a member on here decided to purchase ASM parts I'm pretty sure there's usually data proven info that ASM, or any other higher-end brand will out-perform similar lower-end products. Thus usually explaining the price difference.
How many different ways can a $2000+ LV handbag function over a regular priced handbag?

If you're bent on spending $2K on her, do it in a useful way such as opening a mutual fund or CD, or something that will be lasting.
Spending $2K on a bag that will be out of style in 2 months is not smart, whether you're Asian, Black, White, or American like me

girls just want the same.
although it does seem a little rediculous for a handbag...

Put my wife in the high $ handbag camp. She must have 30 of the damm things. It does not bother me though she gets what she wants and vice versa.
I have seen some high $ handbags but than again i have seen some high $ car mods. Look at a nice set of HRE wheels for starters I have seen them up and over 5K. Girls spend on handbags and jewelry and guys spend on car mods NBD.

If you want some nice leather get a Ferragamo handbag. Bitches know the signature Ferragamo buckle and respect it

Spending $2k on those wheels or $1000 for an exhaust or $2000 for some seats is pretty stupid too than right? Rather than buying car parts that really do nothing except maybe help with aesthetics (isn't that what a bag does for a girl too?) why don't you go put that money into a CD (oh they are paying 1% or less these days, which means you lose $ according to inflation).
