I use a Hogue HANDALL Jr. sleeve on mine (mounted upside down so I can pull it up further) which really helps. The kick is strong and the grip isn't the smoothest, so a little padding helps. Some people melt the grip, or take some sand paper to it, but the sleeve is easiest.
A lot of people do a fluff and buff too, but I never did, and I haven't had any problems.
What finish did you get and how much did you pay? I dropped $259.99 + tax for my blued slide back around may 08.

LOL this is ridiculous!
bought another remmy 870 on tuesday, basically on a whim. went into a gun shop just to browse and they happen to have a brand new and still pretty rare 870 express tactical.. 18.5", 5+2, tactical fore end, tactical choke, xs ghost ring, pic rail, etc. I think someday she will get turned into a SBS, but for now it's just another backup for the dead bolt. Loaded her with full power 3" 000 buck. I think I may dislodge my shoulder. There went a good chunk of the $$ I was gonna put towards the new AR.. oh well

also, if you catch you spouse in the act of cheating and have you weapon on you, you're within your rights to kill one or both.
yeah, its true. but the catch is you have to have it on you. you can't leave the room to go get it.

You may be able to get off with temporary insanity if you have a good enough lawyer but in no way would you"be within your right" to kill your spouse or there lover.

if you leave the room, or reload, or say run over your spouse after the fact, then the crime of passion defense falls appart, and it becomes premeditated.
in addition, we have the "castle-doctrine" law in place and if someone breaks into your home or occupied vehicle then it is presumed that they are there to do you serious bodily injury and you have the right to respond accordingly, including the use of deadly force.
whats more, you have the right to carry a handgun in their private vehicles so long as the weapon is not in plain sight (assuming they are legally permitted to purchase a firearm), they are not a member of a criminal organization (such as a street gang) and are not engaged in criminal activity passed a Class C misdemenor (i.e. traffic ticket). with or without a concealed-carry permit.

The issue was that you said "if you catch you spouse in the act of cheating and have you weapon on you, you're within your rights to kill one or both, but the catch is you have to have it on you. you can't leave the room to go get it." This is NOT true. If this happens you can bet your bottom dollar you WILL be arrested and charged with 1 or 2 counts of 1st or 2nd degree murder. (most likely 2nd degree)
What IS true is that you can probably get off on temporary insanity or as you put it a crime of passion, which are both a temporary mental instabilty. If you were "within your rights" you would never have been arrested the begin with becasue you didn't do anything wrong. Crime of passion IS wrong but because it's a temporary mental instability and it most likey wouldn't happen again (depending on your criminal background) a good attorney could get you off. One such example is villella v. State of Florida
