Someone mentioned something about everything being more expensive now that Blu-Ray won... Well I prefer to pay $30 for a Blu-Ray (which is worth it) than $30 for an HD DVD (which is not worth it) If they would of sold the HD DVD for $20 like they should because the cost of production is much lower I would bow to them but they were just making larger profits than the competition being an inferior product. Yes I know the quality in picture and everything else is comparable but their tech behind it is cheap.
Haha I'm sorry, but you honestly think that the Average Joe buying a HD DVD or Blu Ray player at Wal-Mart actually cares about the "tech" behind it?

They don't but in general, the better product at the cheaper price will always win. In this case, HD-DVD lost which is what *should* (and did) happen.

I've still got a PS2... in the closet for several years! Just because they're still squeezing games out for it doesn't make it hip. You can go buy new Gameboy Advance carts too but the DS is where it's at for Nintendo. Lest you think me a Sony basher I owned the original PS too! But c'mon, we're all bleeding edge types around here.

Well in that case, PS3 and 360 are neither "hip" and I guess dead by your definition then. Nintendo is leading the way with its unbuyable Wii's at the moment

HOLY $HIT!!!
Can someone PLEASE Explaint his statement? it is the second time i have heard it on this forum and it has never been backed up.

read my post on the last page WITH citations.

HD-DVD cost $0.15 (that is fifteen cents for those who can't read decimal) less than a bluray disk.

WHERE do you get a $10 discount? and WHY do you think Toshiba sets the prices?
WHO owns the movie and WHO puts it on the shelf?

I feel bad for people trying to get real advice on this thread.

go to AVSforums for accurate information. Please.

I posted this thread to the blu boys and it is turning out pretty well.

Oh and of course I work for Toshiba and microsoft.
so feel free to flame me, but if you do, make sure you back up your statements.

Last I checked, $$$$$$ is coming on both blu-ray AND HD-DVD. Just for example, girls gone wild will be blu-ray.

And regardless of that, people still buy $$$$$$?
