Hello, Tech Support? (tech question)
I'm trying to add an "autorun" function to a CD I'm putting together. I've never done this (successfully) and I was wondering if anyone could offer a few pointers.
The CD contains a web page (html) navigation structure with video, audio, etc. So I think all I need to do is get the "index.html" page open and the web browser should take it from there.
Here is what I'm starting with, and plan on saving as an autorun.ini file.
[autorun]
open = index.html
icon = suitableicon.ico
I'm not sure which icon I'm going to use, so I just named it "suitable icon" for now.
Other than the icon name, should this work? Am I correct that all I need to do is get the index page open and the default browser can read the rest of the web from the CD?
Thanks for any and all input and suggestions -

Your best bet is to use other CDrom's autorun files as a reference. Find one that works the way you want it to work and basically copy it. Autorun files are definately not rocket science, so it shouldn't be hard to pull off at all.
Thanks for the reply, I did copy the commands above but the "open =" file was an .exe, I just wasn't sure it would open the .html file using the default browser.
Anyone know for sure? I don't want to burn a bunch of discs trying to get it right!
Thanks -

I did this a long time ago using an IE4 CD. It had a really neat splash screen that was very easy to edit. You could embed a movie, and edit the icons. I made some cool stuff with it. I can zip it up and send it to you later if you like.
